I think the extent to which I have any balance at all, any mental balance, is because of being a farm kid and being raised in those isolated rural areas.

Day 365 of 365

Wow the Last Day!!

I know, I know! Not very original, but never the less, very fitting for the last photo! I posted 365 days worth of photos - though they were not all consecutive! But, then, I'm not really a photographer either! Just an ordinary person sharing her simple life with some amazing people from around the world! I count myself richly blessed to call each of you "friend"!

To Marga for challenging me to be a better "picture taker"!

To Raewyn as we shared our very similar lives from opposite sides of the globe!!

To Sharon who has the cutest little grandbabies ever and always posted some wonderful "mystery" photos.

To Rachel who awed me with such wonderful architecture photos!

To Joanne who lives on the "prairie" which calls to my heart - plus she is one amazing FMQuilter!

To Ann, Jeanneke and Shelly who all shared a short time, but touched me with their amazing lives.

To all my faithful followers who often left encouraging comments - Thank you!!

And to Lucy, such an amazing woman, who fit me into her busy vacation schedule! What a wonderful day we had - I'm looking forward to the day when we meet again! I'm a better person for having met you!

I do plan to continue posting photos. I will create a new blog (I'll let you know when I get it up and going) with the title

"The Beauty of a Simple Life"

I also plan to come back to this blog and "clean it up a bit" by putting labels on posts or creating tabs by category. This 365 day journey has been amazing - one to go back over and reminisce about.

Blessings to each and every one of you!!

Day 348 of 365 - Ike is Here!!

Ike is my daughter's favorite cat, but when they moved 3 1/2 months ago, Ike was no where to be found - but her friend (who is renting their old house) called and said "Ike just came in the door!!!" We're all glad that Ike is here!!

Day 322 of 365 - Young Ducks

A couple of months ago, a pair of whistling ducks hatched 5 ducklings at our dirt tank (pond). I was never able to get a photo of them. But today, as I went by, I noticed these young ducks. Mama and papa duck brought them back on their way south!

Day 319 of 365 - Gal & Me!

We spent part of today gathering cows, weaning a few calves, & checking some other cows. Saw a brand new baby calf, but alas I did not have the camera with me. Maybe tomorrow...
So you get a photo of my number one mount, Gal, and me!

Day 317 of 365 - Cattle Egrets

This morning when I went about my morning chores, I first noticed the cattle egrets by the goat pen - I ran to the house and snatched my camera to get a photo or two. What was so amazing, is that 15 of these lovely birds stayed around the headquarters all day, so I snapped several more photos. I won't post them all, but I am going to post more than one - just because they are such lovely birds. They are also a sign of wetter weather, so we are very excited to see them!!
